The Equine Committee is responsible for developing and sponsoring programs and educational materials for people with an interest in the horse industry.
Will County Trail Riders
WCTR, speaking as the organized voice of the county’s equestrians, has worked with the forest preserve and other public entities with the request to include equestrian use of public land. The WCTR have received positive results in the past and is working towards the future inclusion of equine on newly constructed trails throughout Will County. In our endeavor to further educate the public, we also choose to educate ourselves so as to represent the equine population in a responsible fashion.
Illinois State Stock Horse Association
Sponsors an annual 100 Mile Trail Ride and keeps watch over legislative and conservation issues and groups in our state. The interests of animal rights groups, the disappearance of recreational land to development, and competition for recreational land use space are areas of growing concern.
Horseman's Council of Illinois
Horsemen's Council of Illinois serves as the voice of the horse industry in our state to protect our animals and our rights as horsemen, educate within and outside our industry about horses and their impact, and to advocate for horses and for you, the horse lover. HCI is the only horse association in this state that represents all breeds, all disciplines, and every type of horse-related enterprise throughout our state.

Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Foundation
The Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Foundation is a Not-For-Profit service corporation, representing Illinois breeders and owners and dedicated to the growth and development of the Illinois state-bred incentive program for Thoroughbreds.
Illinois Equine Industry Research and Promotion Board
The Illinois Equine Industry Research and Promotion Board is an Illinois not-for-profit entity, organized to provide research, promotion and education for the equine industry in Illinois. Authorized by the enabling legislation, the Equine Promotion Board collects a voluntary assessment (to the end purchaser ONLY) on equine feed purchased in Illinois. Run by a 12-member board of directors, the Equine Promotion is responsible for the collection, monitoring and disbursements of the equine checkoff funds.
