The Jackson Falls trail from the East Trigg Trailhead follows the River to River trail for about 2 miles on old roads near a railroad line.  A short 1 mile loop off the River to River Trail, 001T, will take you to Cove Hollow a beautiful pocket of soaring bluffs on three sides.  If you are lucky, you may even catch the intermittent Cove Hollow Falls but only after a particularly wet stretch.  Also on the 001T Cove Hollow loop, keep an eye out for a rock formation some say looks like Jay Leno.  The stony faced Leno can be seen at  GPS coordinates N37° 29.959' W88° 41.710'. and is best seen from horseback.  After returning to the River to River Trail and passing through a 10 foot corrugated tunnel, Tin Whistle, the trail for Jackson Falls is found on the North side, 049 to 048.  049 has several stream crossings of varying difficulty depending on the weather, varied terrain, and old growth forest.  The trail highlight is the seasonal Jackson Falls.  Views from both top and bottom of the bluff can be enjoyed year round but wet weather is necessary to see the falls at their best.
