Friends of Jubilee College State Park was formed to inspire and empower volunteers to serve in improvement projects to Jubilee College State Park.
Friends of Jubilee College State Park work to preserve the historic, ecological, recreational and educational attributes of the Park., promote the Park by staging educational and recreational events, augment Park staff services and provide continuous improvement to the Park by encouraging volunteerism and by soliciting grants and donations as a 501c3 corporation. Our organization also will further the public’s understanding, education and appreciation of these resources by promoting activities and events which enhance the public’s awareness of the natural world, the history and public safety of these natural resources for the present and future generations to enjoy.
Friends of Jubilee College State Park bring together a diverse field of organized volunteer groups to advocate as one voice for Jubilee College State Park in Springfield and to work together for the common good and improvement of Jubilee College for all to use. The current volunteer groups represented in Friends of Jubilee College State Park include the Historical Society, Peoria Area Master Gardeners, Jubilee Prairie Dawgs, PAMBA(Peoria Area Mountain Bikers), Peoria Area Backpackers, Jubilee Trail Riders, Geocachers, Peoria Astromy Group, and unaffiliated equestrians who actively use the equestrian trails.
Activities of Friends of Jubilee College State Park include biannual organized park clean up days, streamlined communication for trail and park improvement with the site superintendent, advocacy with state representatives and state senators to preserve the park, public outreach events, fundraiser hikes and trail rides, and earth day events,
